When we say we do roofs and exteriors, we really do them. Most of the exterior work we do is partial, repairs or modifications to solve an issue, but we also help design and update homes to be more pleasing to the owners. This was a delight, and our customers have received a warm welcome for the upgrade from more than a few neighbors, family, and friends.

A Facade Makeover Project

Design by Gary Whillock / Completion 2025

Facelift & Update

The house was only nine years old, so why remodel. To the owners, after driving home, year after year, the front began to feel more like a warehouse, than the home they grew to love on the inside, the location, yes, but the front, it just looked boring, unfinished and commercial. They continued, there is too much brick, and a chunk of stairs, let alone the dark entryway. They had these concerns and a single question, “what can we do?” To us, that is the perfect place to begin. The iPhone photos above are the left before, and the right photo is after. No touchup, just raw iPhone photos, point and shoot. So, how did we get here, how did they know where the project was headed? A good question.

Concept Rendering

To See What the Finished Project Will Look Like

This is a rendering, a near photo quality drawing, and this was the third generation, with a final change, the small round window added. This gracefully breaks up the large section of stone that stood out, once we broke up the stone area to the right with a new roofline, and an awning roof addition. Renderings are never exact but they let us design together, so you will know what your project will look like before constctuion begins. With this process, we know the costs as they develop, and modify as needed for asthetics and for budget.

Floating Stairs - Floating Treads

The stairs are pre-cast colored concrete. The idea was to make the stair treads appear to float.

The treads are intentionally extra wide at this edge for ease of walk, with only a five inch rise each step.

The Warmth of Home

The simplicity of placing a round – designer window in a blank wall provide mulitiple effects.

Natural sunlight filters in during the days.

A warm evening glow appears from the inside each evening.

And it originated to break up, and add value to the only blank space left.

A Framed, Standing Seam Metal Cladded Awning

An added awning provides protection and houses lights. It's large supports anchored to the stone gives a air of elegance to what was formally blank wall.

Natural carved wooden corbels support the awning also adds a sense of permanancy to the facade.
