Texas Hill Country Estate

Nestled in Texas Hill Country an hour and a half west of Austin near Fredericksburg, the heart of Texas wine country is this amazing home, contracted by Laughlin Homes.

Austin Roofing Contractors, provided the roof of Italian Clay Tile, each piece mortared into place (old-world). The mix of 24-gauge dark bronze colored, double-lock standing seem metal roofing brought perfect balance to the architecture of this home.

Whether you are building a mansion in Texas Hill Country, own a SW Austin contemporary home that needs the roof replaced along with proper roof to wall transition flashing built into the stucco walls, or simply want to refresh and update your quaint south Austin home, we have you covered.

Legend Oaks, South Austin:
A typical project Austin Roofing Contractors is this older home which needed more than just new roofing shingles. Reroofing often may need to include other work like fascia repairs and replacement, and in this case a chimney built of hardboard siding was updated to Hardie panels, along with painting and new gutters.
Due to extreme tree coverage, dark algae stains are common, so the owners selected Atlas Pinnacle Pristine, the most algae resistant shingle available that is backed by 3M’s Scotchgard guarantee.
A slight color change in shingles added some contrast making it a corner house to envy.

Killeen Texas-More than a Decade of Storms

Year after year, Killeen is hit with hailstorm after hails storm and guess, what? Brava Tile Roofing has more than survived, it has thrived.
Looking as good as it did when Austin Roofing Contractors first installed it in a      sea of composition roofs, and everyone else is having their roof replaced        time  and again.

Composite materials are making more sense than we ever thought they would.
Brava Roofing comes in a variety of styles and colors, all having a very rich architectural appearance.

Downtown Veiw from Mt. Bonnell

A Mt. Bonnell Project: The owners had recently purchased this home knowing it needed a little work with one of their largest concerns being the issue of a huge attic storage space that was too hot to store anything.

The team’s challenge was not only to replace the roof, correct the roof to wall flashing issues, restore the masonry on the chimneys above the roof, but was also to engineer venting to lowering the temperature close to ambient temperature outdoors.

The perimeter intake vents and large dormer vents were a success, lower the attic termperature dramatically.

Rough Hollow, Lakeway:

Free from nearly all concerns of hailstorms this home sets in a neighborhood exclusive with new homes at the end of a cul-de-sac overlooking the lake yet the owners are free from concerns of weather protected by a shell of 24-gauge Kynar Coated Steel Roofing and sweeping overhangs to protect the windows and stucco.

The initial plan was metal for the architectural appeal. The end result is a roof that protects this home from the elements and gives it the beauty of a modern-day contemporary home.

Messa Oaks:

Standing Seam Metal Roof, Awning Roof Addition, Limewashed Stone, and Paint.

Yes, Austin Roofing Contractors takes on more than just roofing. On this project the house had a dramatic transition taking it from the stained orange stone and brown roof to a 2025 Architectural moderinized home that still fits the neighborhood.

The owners had a good vision of what they wanted, it made it an easy project to transform.

Villa on Lake Travis:

Recogninzed by many who have set and watched the sun set over Lake Travis from the Oasis Restaurant.

This was a major roof and flashing restoration including the three copper domes, copper blind-valley, stucco redo to allow for proper roof to wall flashing, masonry modifications and more.

The Marsh project:  Weathering the Storms.

Located in SW Austin, this home has a composition shingle roof that is 50% thicker than most. It is a GAF Timberline Ultra – and it can withstand the storms, outperforming standard Timberline shingles hands down.

It also shows more definition due to this additional thickness.  There are many shingles that are thicker, and also withstand the storms better along with impact resistant roofing available by many of the manufacturers today.

A Stone throw away from Lake Austin:

This is truly one of Austin’s most unique homes in a gated community near Mt. Bonnel. With windows overlooking the lake, this house had high vaulted ceilings. Western sun, large windows, and no attic to vent.

With a Double-Locking Standing Seam metal roof, elevated from the deck to allow venting, and adding Ipe double fascias at the eaves with cora-vent, created natural venting, this along with a soldered zinc valley pan behind the long-time leaking entry wall, the home is cooler, protected from storms with class 4 impact resistant metal and leak free for decades to come.

Hutto Texas:

Living in a neighborhood where all the homes all look the same, the same gray roof and the same off gray siding, the owners wanted to liven up their home with colors and metal roof accents, in this case, a copper coat color standing seam metal roofing on the entry and the garage eyebrow was selected, creating a colorful home with an architectural appeal that the neighbors loved, so much so, that Austin Roofing Contractors received numourous calls from neighbors wanting similar things done to their homes.

Rollingwood:  The look of Raw Metal.

Secluded on an oversize lot in Rollingwood, just accross Mopac and Lady Bird Lake from Downtown Austin sits this custom home truly hidden from view. Built years ago for the current owners it is a sanctuary in the midst of Austin.

The teams worked dilegently to replace the old-style metal roof, with a double-lock galvalume metal roof. The adjoining walls required roof-to-wall flashings and repairs to restore this magnificent display of architecture among the near-forest like surroundings.

Circle C’s First Metal Roof:

This project started by getting approval where none before had been able to in Circle C. It was an immidiate hit in the neighborhood, and by careful selection of color, the assiciation was also pleased with the new appearance of this home’s roof.

There were a number of things done to correct issues with the current roof. A sage was corrected in the front left section. A patio roof on the rear was upgraded to have a low pitch that would allow for a metal roof, along with a newly designed and constructed chimney cricket to accomidate for the pitch change on the patio roof.

Overlook Estates, SW Austin Texas:

Showing this house from the back side, it was a complete restoration, solving many issues from the original construction.

The challenges of poor construction design or lack of design and the lack of practical engineering can come as a great expense to owners. Restorations need to be carefully planned and designed to avoid falling into the same trape, once again.

Our passion is doing work that is built to last.

NW Austin – Great Hills:

With the impact of increasing hail storms and the impact of hail on compositon roofs, these owners decided on a truly hail resistent roof. This is an F-Wave Revina Synthetic Roofing Shingle.

F-Wave roofing materials is only one of the many products that can better protect your home from hail damage. The beauty of the contrasting colors, and the distinctive look of F-Wave, sets this home appart from most in Great Hills, yet, it doesn’t overpower.

Lake Austin-Boatdock & Deck, a Slate Roof

Over the water, a more difficutl way to do a roof, but worth the efforts. One of the challenges we had was  realizing non of our crews had experience in shapping the shell-shaped slates.

The larges part of the roof is roofed with standard black slate roofing and our crew had experience in this, and quickly learned to deal with the water below. It didn’t take long to realize, not knowing is a state of mind and the more experience a crewman had, the more difficult it was for them to see themself making this unfamiliar old-world craftsman technique work.

But there was a young man that was reletively new to the crew as he was just entering working age. He took instructions well, and click on the photo to see the video, it’s short and it’s rewarding to see a young man accomplish with the experienced crews could not do.

San Marcos, Top of the Hill:

An upgrade to stone coated metal roofing would require a complete restoration of the roof to include the siding and flashings, a roof remodel of the pool house roof to better match the architecture of the house.

Not only was the need to do extensive work, but there were the PLANTS. A beautiful collection of plants around the pool and adjacent to the house. It was not easy, and a lot of planning was needed to sustain the beautiful work of nature and hours of prior dedication to that beauty by the owner. It had to be saved – from possible ruin.
